Ghana FA signs agreement with Qatar FA

  The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has signed a five-year partnership agreement deal with the Qatari Football Association (QFA). The partnership will be covering technical and professional exchanges, general management, study and research and assistance in sports facilities. Again sports science, sports medicine, Futsal, Women’s football, Youth football, promotional and marketing. The two associations will exchange sports centres and installation for competitions, training and camps as and where possible in accordance with availability and suitability and exchange of information and material of technical and expert nature. The two countries have also reached an agreement to cooperate to play international friendlies between national teams ranging from Senior men’s national teams, Men’s Olympic teams, Senior Women’s national teams, Junior teams (Men and Women) and Futsal teams.   Asante Kotoko midfielder, Fabio Gama Dos Santos has stated that, he is very happy for his former teammate Kwame Poku who has currently join USM Algiers in the Algerian League.   Kwame Poku who joined the Porcupine Warriors from Division One League side, Nkoranza Warriors left the shores of Ghana to join the Algerian side, USM Algiers. According to Fabio Gama, he is happy for Kwame Poku and will pray for him to succeed. "My good friend, I wish you all the best bro, you deserve it and I will keep praying to God to bless you. More and more, to enjoy your football." He noted that, it was a big pleasure to meet you and to play with you together. May God bless you and your family," he concluded The Ghanaian leaves the shores of the country as the top scorer for Asante Kotoko in the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season after scoring seven goals.  

‘Dumsor’ timetable for Volta, Oti Regions approved by ECG

  The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has approved Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo)’s request to put out a power ration timetable in some parts of the country to enable it to work on its machines. The notice by the ECG says this largely affects parts of the Volta and Oti Regions from Thursday, March 18 to Monday, March 22, 2021. The move, according to GRIDCo, is to enable it to undertake repair works on transformers supplying the two regions. Areas affected include parts of Ho, Adaklu Ahunda, Sogakope, Akatsi, Keta, Adidome and its environs are expected to experience power outages. Below is the full list of areas to be affected.   This comes on the back of speculations by a cross-section of Ghanaians about a seeming return to the days of erratic electricity supply, popularly known as ‘dumsor,’ following a March 7 scare.   Ghana international midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has revealed that, he always gives his best at Cagliariin the Italian Serie A just as he did for Juventus and Inter Milan. The 32-year-old signed for Cagliari Calcio in February 2021, three months after parting ways with Internazionale. Kwadwo Asamoah claimed he played to win the Scudetto or seek qualification to the UEFA Champions League during his days at Inter and Juventus and he gave his best all the time. Asamoah says it is the same mindset or mentality taken to Cagliari. "Even with Juve and Inter I have always played for the Scudetto or for qualification in the Champions League, this does not change my approach to the new reality: in Serie A you must always be positive and always give your best."
