  The Chairman of the Internal Elections Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Kakra Essamuah has expressed surprise at the newcomer in the presidential primaries who picked forms to contest.   Ghanaians are yearning for Mahama’s comeback – Alabi Former Rector of the University of Professional Studies , Accra (UPSA) Professor Joshua Alabi has stated that, Ghanaians are currently yearning for the return of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Addressing the media after officially picking the nomination forms on behalf of the former President, John Dramani Mahama, not only are Ghanaians yearning for the comeback of the NDC but they want John Dramani Mahama to come to power and rescue the economy from collapse.   Majority begs Minority to approve Akufo-Addo’s new ministers The Majority caucus in Parliament is appealing to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as the Minority caucus to rescind the decision not to approve the new ministers appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Prior to the vetting of the newly nominated ministers on Monday, February 20, 2023, the NDC directed the Minority group not to approve them, describing their appointments as an insensitive move that would increase government’s expenditure in the midst of an economic mess.   AGI wants current state of DDEP reviewed The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has affirmed its support for the International Monetary Fund programme to help bring stability to the economy. It however expressed concern about the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), saying, though it acknowledges that this programme will allow Ghana to gradually reduce its debt-to-Gross Domestic Product (GDP) metrics towards sustainable levels, there are some key challenges that need to be addressed for the DDEP to yield the expected impact. “The AGI membership constitutes businesses in 23 sectors, including banks, insurance companies and manufacturers across Ghana who play critical roles in the productive sector of the economy and therefore have strong interest in the implementation of this programme.
