ABUAKWA RESIDENTS ANGRY WITH NIA OFFCIALS

The National Identification Authority (NIA) extended the mass registration exercise in the Ashanti Region from 10th January to Thursday, 16th January 2020.

This, according to the Authority, is to restore “the two registration days (27th and 28th December) lost to the Region because of the Christmas holidays” and also “account for the challenges encountered in the first two days of the exercise in many communities across the Region”.
Meanwhile some of the residents at Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya in an interview with Mickynewsgh, they revealed that, they feared they might not be registered before the due time because of the delay in starting the registration by the NIA Officials.
According to them, they expressed their disappointment towards the NIA Officials at Abuakwa Apemhasi electoral area for their delayed in starting the registration of the Ghana card.
They added that, the registration started around 8: 19am which differ from the time which is 7:00 am.
They noted that, some came there in the early hours of today to be registered but the NIA Officials failed to start on time.
