ASHANTI REGIONAL MINISTER OUTLINES THE PROGRAMS AHEAD OF THE 63RD INDEPENDENCE DAY


The Ashanti regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah yesterday met the press to outline the programs they have organized ahead of the 63rd Independence Day which will be held in Kumasi.
According to him, there will be a ceremony to mark the victims of the Christiansburg cross road shooting in Accra on the 28th February, 2020 whiles Muslims will also pray for Ghana across the country.

He added that, on the 29th February, 2020, there will be Health and Fitness walk across the country and also embarked on a cleanup exercise in some major parts of the Ashanti region especially Juaso, Konogo, and Ejisu to Kumasi.

He noted that, Christians will pray and thanks giving service across the country on the 1st of March 2020.

He further revealed that, there will be a national holding flag in workplace to indicate the beginning of the celebration on 2nd March 2020 and President Akuffo Addo will honor some students at the Accra International Conference center on the same day.

“On the 3rd of March 2020, we should all wear traditional dresses preferably Kente or Adinkra to show our cultural to other people”, he said.
He again noted that, there will be fire works across the country which will be done by the Military personals with the biggest being held at the Old Polo grounds were Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his associates made the declaration on 5TH March 2020.

He revealed that, he expect residents of all walks to be at the Baba Yara sports Stadium at 8:00 am to begin the celebration of the Independence Day on the 6th on March 2020.
