COVID-19: WE EXPECT THE NUMBERS TO INCREASE IN THE COMING DAYS- OPPONG NKRUMAH

The Information Minister, Hon. Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that, they expect the number of the confirmed cases of covid- 19 to increase in the country in the coming days before it drops very soon. Explaining some factors that will inform the next line of action in a radio interview, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the first will be the number of positive cases recorded from the enhanced surveillance. "One, how much of your case count is coming from the enhanced surveillance which gives you a fair idea of how far you are going ahead, it will not tell you exactly whether you are ahead but how far, through the enhanced surveillance you people you are finding asymptomatic which suggest early days of exposure and they are becoming the majority and it will give you an indication that you have moved beyond people with symptoms..." He noted that, all residents should not panic but maintain all the measures been giving to them by the President.

POLICE INTERCEPT TRUCK COVERED WITH TARPAULIN WITH COCONUTS AND 8 TRAVELLERS

Police at Offinso South in the Ashanti region have intercepted cargo truck which was transporting coconuts and 8 travellers to Techiman in the Bono East region. The driver loaded the truck with over 100 coconuts and hid the travellers in to outsmart the Police Officers. According to the Chief Inspector of Offinso- Asamankama, Chief Inspector James Antwi Adaboh, aka, Power, they got information that, a truck has hidden travellers to outsmart the security agencies hence the need for them to conduct a strict checks on the road. However some of the arrested suspects disclosed to the media that, they are the owners of the goods been transported from Nzema to Techiman and are for commercial purposes.

COVID-19: 144 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN KUMASI FOR BREAKING LOCKDOWN RULE- REG. MINISTER

The Ashanti regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah has revealed that, 144 people have been arrested in Kumasi for defiling the lockdown rules. According to him, about 25 people including pastors and others who made false statement against the President was sent to court. He added that, all the efforts by the government is to help curb the spread of the coronavirus. He noted that, there are recalcitrant people in the region who must be taught a lesson. He again warned all residents to stay home.
