MILITARY OFFICERS ARE THERE FOR PEACE-DEFENCE MINISTER

Deputy Minister for Defense, Major Derrick Oduro has stated that, the Military are not deployed to these places to intimidate residents as been speculated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa Morning show, he disclosed that, the Security Officers are there to help prevent any casualties from happening.

According to him, the Military Personals will never enter any polling station unless any casualty happens.

He added that, the Bono regional Security Council agreed not to bus people to any polling station irrespective of where you are coming from.

He revealed that, they have deployed Military Officers at the various borders to protect Ghanaians from any terrorist attacks.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. Speaking on the Omanbapa morning show, he said the 6th year medical students would spend 3 weeks on campus for exams before they end the semester and the 5th year also follow suit afterwards due to social distancing. NDC YOUTH VANDALIZED PARTY OFFICE

  Irate youth of the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency have vandalized the office of the National Democratic Congress at Suame. Leader angry youth, Mohammed Naail speaking to Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the executives  within the party has failed to meet up to their expectation. According to him, the constituency Chairman does not vote at the Suame Constituency hence he can’t become the Chairman of the party per their rules. He added that, there is an injunction on Shaba by the court that prevents him from entering the party’s office. He noted that, they felt disappointed towards the Ashanti regional Chairman on the NDC for giving a clearance letter to Shaba to become the Chairman of the constituency without informing anybody. He disclosed that, they vandalized the office to express their dissatisfaction towards the leaders of the party. GHANA RISK OF FOOD DROUGHT IF DESERTIFICATION PERSISTS-WETLAND MANAGER WARNS

Dickson Agyemang, Operations manager for Wetland under the Forestry Commission has revealed that consistent desertification of lands and building in water ways may lead the country into food crisis in the coming years. Ghana is losing more than 20 percent forest reserve every year due to desertification such as mining activities, felling down of trees and the likes, he revealed when speaking on Omanbapa show with Nana Ampratwum. He added that Ghana is in a risk of food crisis and extreme poverty if we continue the activities that destroy farmlands and forest reserves. Mr. Agyemang therefore encouraged Ghanaians to report people who build in water areas for legal action to be taken against them.
