SAKAWA TRIBE TAG WE DON’T NEED ANY APOLOGY FROM MAHAMA- OBIRI BOAHEN

Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Obiri Boahen has panned the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama over Akyem Mafia, Sakawa boys statement.

According to him, Traditional rulers of Akyem and Ghanaians as a whole should not forgive John Dramani Mahama for making such a malicious statement.

He added that, it is not necessary of Mahama to make an attempt to apologize to the traditional rulers for making such a statement.

He noted that, to the President as Akyem Sakawa grandpa. This is how low we have reduced our presidency…we have a former president seeking the mandate of Ghanaians boldly describing the sad aspect of this whole saga is for the former President to stoop so low and refer a whole ethnic group as sakawa.

The former President has been facing backlash over what the ruling NPP has described as an endorsement of a tribal comment made by the MP.

Isaac Adongo reacting to the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal said the agreement was fraudulent adding 'the Akyem Sakawa boys and grandpas must go'.

President Akufo-Addo has expressed his disappointment in this remark.

According to him, “sometimes, one would hope when things come out, people will comment on them. The comment made by my opponent: ‘Akyem Sakawa’ people, I have not heard any public figure in this country or anybody comment on it.”

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. NDC YOUTH VANDALIZED PARTY OFFICE

  Irate youth of the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency have vandalized the office of the National Democratic Congress at Suame. Leader angry youth, Mohammed Naail speaking to Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the executives  within the party has failed to meet up to their expectation. According to him, the constituency Chairman does not vote at the Suame Constituency hence he can’t become the Chairman of the party per their rules. He added that, there is an injunction on Shaba by the court that prevents him from entering the party’s office. He noted that, they felt disappointed towards the Ashanti regional Chairman on the NDC for giving a clearance letter to Shaba to become the Chairman of the constituency without informing anybody. He disclosed that, they vandalized the office to express their dissatisfaction towards the leaders of the party. GHANA RISK OF FOOD DROUGHT IF DESERTIFICATION PERSISTS-WETLAND MANAGER WARNS

Dickson Agyemang, Operations manager for Wetland under the Forestry Commission has revealed that consistent desertification of lands and building in water ways may lead the country into food crisis in the coming years. Ghana is losing more than 20 percent forest reserve every year due to desertification such as mining activities, felling down of trees and the likes, he revealed when speaking on Omanbapa show with Nana Ampratwum. He added that Ghana is in a risk of food crisis and extreme poverty if we continue the activities that destroy farmlands and forest reserves. Mr. Agyemang therefore encouraged Ghanaians to report people who build in water areas for legal action to be taken against them.
