DISQUALIFIED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES CAN GO TO COURT- OTOKUNOR
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor has indicated that, the disqualified candidates have a case to go to the court to appeal for the rights.
According to him, the Electoral Commission should not have opened the filing of nomination when they were exhibiting the voter’s registrar.
He added that, the EC cannot disqualify any candidate based on the registrar because they are still working on the voter’s registrar.
The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has barred five presidential aspirants from contesting the upcoming December 7 general elections.
According to the EC, the disqualified aspirants flouted some of the EC’s technical and IT protocols in the nomination documents.
Speaking to journalists in Accra, the EC announced that the five disqualified aspirants were independent candidates, Kofi Koranteng and Marricke Kofi Gane; UPP’s Akwasi Addae Odike, PAP’s Kwasi Busumbru and UFP’s Nana Agyenim Boateng
