DOWNPOUR TAKES ONE LIFE AT AHWIAA

Information reaching Africanews gh.blogspot.com indicates that, a four (4) year old girl has met her sudden demised following the heavy rainfall yesterday.

Sister of the deceased narrating the incident to Silver fm reporter, Nana Peprah,sight by Africanewsgh.blogspot.com said, she found her sister (Grace Odum) trapped in a gutter while it was heavily raining.

Mother of the deceased child in an interview with Nana Peprah said , she sent her children to a nearby shop before it started raining.

According to her, she started searching for them when she found out that, they have not return home.

She noted that, she went to the nearby shops close to her but couldn't find them until someone shouted that, three children have fallen into a gutter.

"They did everything to rescue the children but unfortunately they couldn't save the last child", she lamented.

NADMO Director at Kwabre East, Anthony Senya expressed his sadness over the death of the child.

According to him, they begun informing the residents not to send any child when it raining to prevent any disaster.

He added that, they found the lifeless body of the child in a river called Tuba.

He cautioned the general public not to walk when it is raining.

NDC YOUTH VANDALIZED PARTY OFFICE

  Irate youth of the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency have vandalized the office of the National Democratic Congress at Suame. Leader angry youth, Mohammed Naail speaking to Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the executives  within the party has failed to meet up to their expectation. According to him, the constituency Chairman does not vote at the Suame Constituency hence he can’t become the Chairman of the party per their rules. He added that, there is an injunction on Shaba by the court that prevents him from entering the party’s office. He noted that, they felt disappointed towards the Ashanti regional Chairman on the NDC for giving a clearance letter to Shaba to become the Chairman of the constituency without informing anybody. He disclosed that, they vandalized the office to express their dissatisfaction towards the leaders of the party. GHANA RISK OF FOOD DROUGHT IF DESERTIFICATION PERSISTS-WETLAND MANAGER WARNS

Dickson Agyemang, Operations manager for Wetland under the Forestry Commission has revealed that consistent desertification of lands and building in water ways may lead the country into food crisis in the coming years. Ghana is losing more than 20 percent forest reserve every year due to desertification such as mining activities, felling down of trees and the likes, he revealed when speaking on Omanbapa show with Nana Ampratwum. He added that Ghana is in a risk of food crisis and extreme poverty if we continue the activities that destroy farmlands and forest reserves. Mr. Agyemang therefore encouraged Ghanaians to report people who build in water areas for legal action to be taken against them.
