Man bites off Police officer's thumb after resisting arrest
A 22-year-old man, Eric Awutey has bitten off the thumb of a Police officer at Kasoa Millennium City in the Central Region.
According to a resident in the area, Kofi, the 22-year-old man perpetuated the act by biting off the thumb of the Police Officer in an attempt to resist arrest.
He added that, the suspect is a well known ganster who threatens the resident with knifes and other weapons to seize their belongings.
He noted that, all efforts to arrest him has been proved futile until that fateful day when the Police decided to arrest for selling a property belonging to a woman in the community.
He revealed that, the Police arrived at suspect hideout at dawn to arrest him where he bit off the thumb of the Police Officer in an attempt to escape but was apprehend is currently in the custody of the Police.

Majority of road accidents in Ghana happenes on good roads- Mr. Boakye
Former National Road Safety Director in the Ashanti Region and the Western region, Mr. Thomas Bismark Boakye has stated that, majority of road accidents in the country happenes on good roads not on bad roads.
According to him, drivers drive at a top speed on good roads without thinking of any implicatipons that might happened.
He added that, a driver might have a failed brake or the road will be very slippery which causes a lot of accidents on the road.
He noted that, drivers do not use the rules and laws when driving on the road.
He made this comment after 19 people dead following a gory accident at Buipe in the Central Gonja District.
The accident occurred when two buses with registration numbers GT 3345 – 16 and AC 1699 – 20 with 45 aboard each, collided with each other.
Mr. Boakye revealed that, some of the drivers doesn,t know anything about the road especially where to drive speed or where to slow down hence the incerement of accidents on the road.

Hon. Asiamah commissions 6 unit classroom block
Member of Parliament for Atiwma Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti region, Hon. Isaac Asiamah has commissioned a 6 unit classroom block as Obuasekrom and a 12 seater water closet at Kuffour Camp in the Atwima Mponua Consitituency.
The Immediate Pass Youth and Sports Minister stated that, the project was in fulfillment of the his promise he made tho his residents for a high quality eduacation in the constituency.
He added that, the project was to help curb the spread of the covid-19 among the students.

Election Petition: Why Supreme Court dismissed petitioner’s application - Lawyer Bekai explaines
The Supreme Court has for the fourth consecutive time dismissed an application filed by the lawyers for the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama, in the ongoing election petition hearing.
The Supreme Court of Ghana on Wednesday, 03 February 2021, dismissed an application filed by the lawyers for the petitioner in the election petition hearing, John Dramani Mahama, to inspect the original documents of the 1st Respondent, the Electoral Commission.
The Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah in dismissing the application ruled that “the proceedings so far show that the petitioner has copies of the documents which were the subject of the instant application.
"We are of the view that no proper case has been laid before us to warrant the exercise of our discretion in favour of the applicant," the CJ declared.
“Order 29 of C.I. 47 which is the basis of this application should not be read in isolation, it should be read in conjunction with Rule 11 of the said Order.”
He added that Section 166 of the Evidence Act 323 of 1975 “makes it clear that a duplicate of a document is admissible to the same extent as the original unless a genuine question is raised as to the authenticity of the duplicate. No issue has been raised against the authenticity of the document in possession of the applicant.”
Constitutional Lawyer, Lawyer Kofi Bekai speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show explained that, there a some protocols a person have to follow during the pre trial.
