 Central Market: I,m not responsible for relocating traders- Contractor
Consultant of Contractor Construction Company limited responsible of constructing the Kumasi Central Market, Mr. Emmanuel Danso has stated that, it is not their responsibility to relocate traders to pave way for the construction of the Central Market.
Some traders yesterday blamed the contractor and the city authorities of evicting them from their place without any notice.
According to them, they had not been relocated to any place to ply their goods.
But Mr. Danso Emmanuel revealed that, it is alomost two years now since Otumfour Osei Tutu II and President Akufo Addo cut the sod for the construction of the Central Market.
According to him, they would do everything to construct the market within the shortest possible of time.
He added that, the traders should blame the government and not the contractor.
He noted that, they did their part by fencing the market to enable the construction of the market.

 Abandoned Krofrom market to be re-developed after 12 years
Works on the 12-year-old abandoned Krofrom Market within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly after Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II intervened.
The first phase of the project, which is set to begin in this month, will see to its completion in six months at a cost of 60 million Ghana Cedis from the Fidelity Bank Ltd with Asantehene’s royalty as collateral.
Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame in an interview with the Assembly member of Odomasi CBC electoral area, Hon. Kweku Appiah the Overlord of the Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in collaboration with the Akufo-Addo-led government has fast-tracked a pending plan to complete the project to benefit over 8,000 traders in the metropolis.
According to him, ahead of the official start of the project, Manhyia Palace led by the Chief of Amoaman and the Vice Chairman of the Kumasi City Market, Nana Agyenim Boateng I, representing Asantehene begun a traders’ sensitization programme to orient stakeholders especially traders, drivers and opinion leaders on the appropriate roadmap ahead of the successful completion of the facility.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. Asiedu Nketia reveals NPP’s difficulty in e-levy passage

  General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has revealed why the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is having difficulty in passing the Electronic Transactions Levy aka E-Levy. Speaking to the media, he said the NPP government cannot mobilise the 138 parliamentarians to vote for the passing of the levy because some are against the levy. According to him, he is surprise that, the NPP keeps blaming the NDC on the levy claiming that they are preventing them but on this particular occasion, the Minority said they don’t agree and therefore won’t vote and not that they are preventing the NPP from voting. He added that, the Majority carries the vote and so they should mobilize their 138 MPs and vote on the levy but he thinks they are finding it difficult because even their own MPs are unwilling to vote for the passing of the levy. To the Editor, Why I didn’t show up for the morning news production on Monday On that fateful day (Monday, April 4 th 2022) I was preparing to come and produce the morning news despite the heavy rainfall and lack of electricity in my area. I was ready to come around 4:30am when my father ordered me to wait due to crime rate in my area and especially such an ungodly hour. From where l stay, I have to board a taxi to the main road before getting a car to work but unfortunately, there was no car at the time I arrived there around 5:10am because of the rain and lack of electricity. I had no other option than to wait because I might be attacked if I decided to walk to the main road that’s why I couldn’t get here on time to produce to morning news.
