We will vote against NPP if we are abandon-Central Market traders
Traders at the Kumasi Central Market have threatened to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024 general elections if they are not given a better place to ply their things.
Some of them speaking to Silver fm's reporter, Akwadaa Nyame lamented that, they had been evicted from their place without giving them any
place to sell their goods.


According to them, their blood pressure had risen up due to the situation they are facing.
One trader added that, she has paid an amount of ghc5000 to the authorities but they have failed to give her a store to ply her trade for one year now.

Reacting to this, the Personnel Aid to the Mayor, Mr. George Amponsah speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, lack of misinformation has caused this havoc.
According to him, the timeline for the construction of the Central Market is almost due hence the decision to fastrack everything.
He added that, some of the traders refused to ply their trade inside Kejetia terminal after giving them their store.
He pleaded with the traders to have a little patients with the authorities as they are finding a better place for them.

Wrecked buses has become our main concern-GNACOPS
The Executive Director of  Ghana Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), Mr Enoch Kwasi Gyetuah has revealed that, their main concern in the country is the wrecked school buses use to transport students to the schools.
Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, there are some private schools in the country who need support from the government to enable them purchase a safe and best buses.
According to him, there about are about 70% fees payning schools with these wrecked buses.
He added that, they had written a letter to other countries to supply them with buses which has yielded results.
He noted that, a  car company called Perfect Motors based in Saudi Arabia has promised to donated them about 400 buses to support the schools but they need enough funds to retrieve the buses at the Tema Habor.

He again pleaded with Parents to enroll their children at a school that is near to their home.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. Speaking on the Omanbapa morning show, he said the 6th year medical students would spend 3 weeks on campus for exams before they end the semester and the 5th year also follow suit afterwards due to social distancing. This follows the easing of Covid-19 restrictions to enable educational institutions to re-open for final year students on June 15. Dr. Bekoe also clarified that no students has been asked to come for their belongings at the campus as speculated on the social media.

To the Editor, Why I didn’t show up for the morning news production on Monday On that fateful day (Monday, April 4 th 2022) I was preparing to come and produce the morning news despite the heavy rainfall and lack of electricity in my area. I was ready to come around 4:30am when my father ordered me to wait due to crime rate in my area and especially such an ungodly hour. From where l stay, I have to board a taxi to the main road before getting a car to work but unfortunately, there was no car at the time I arrived there around 5:10am because of the rain and lack of electricity.   Have confidence; I’m determined to fix economy despite downgrade – Nana Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident Ghana’s economy will bounce back despite the recent downgrade by international rating agency, Standard & Poor’s (S&P). S&P last week downgraded Ghana’s foreign and local credit ratings from B-B’ to CCC+C with a negative economic outlook. According to S&P, the downgrade was due to intensifying financing and external pressures on the economy.
