Jonathan Mensah named among 5 best defenders in MLS

Columbus Crew Captain Jonathan Mensah has been named among the five best defenders in the Major League Soccer [MLS] for 2019/ 2020 season.

The Ghana Defender guided Crew to the 2020 MLS championship triumph with some stupendous performances in the league. 

The former Ghana U-20 World Cup winner played every minute of the 2020 regular season, and featured in all the games in the MLS is Back tournament.

Mensah positioned himself as one of the best defenders in the entire league and even earned a spot in the tournament's top 11 at the end of the season.

The strong guardsman Mensah is ranked the second best defender in the league just behind Nashville's Walker Zimmerman who ended up picking the defender of the year award in 2020.

Inter Miami's Jorge Figal places third on the list following an excellent display in their inaugural season. The 26-year-old Argentine is expected to play a key role ahead in the 2021 campaign.

To the Editor, Why I didn’t show up for the morning news production on Monday On that fateful day (Monday, April 4 th 2022) I was preparing to come and produce the morning news despite the heavy rainfall and lack of electricity in my area. I was ready to come around 4:30am when my father ordered me to wait due to crime rate in my area and especially such an ungodly hour. From where l stay, I have to board a taxi to the main road before getting a car to work but unfortunately, there was no car at the time I arrived there around 5:10am because of the rain and lack of electricity.   Have confidence; I’m determined to fix economy despite downgrade – Nana Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident Ghana’s economy will bounce back despite the recent downgrade by international rating agency, Standard & Poor’s (S&P). S&P last week downgraded Ghana’s foreign and local credit ratings from B-B’ to CCC+C with a negative economic outlook.
