Aboboyaa rider busted for kidnapping two children


Aboboyaa rider has been arrested by the Offinso Abofo Police Command at the Offinso South Constituency for allegedly kidnapped two children age 4 and 3 years.

According to Assembly member for Asuboe electoral area, Hon. Anthony Sarfo speaking to the media said the suspect has been beaten to pulp by the Police after they apprehended him.

He added that, Police are yet to write the suspect statements rather continuing beaten him.

He noted that, he strongly believes that, the suspect might be innocent due to the interrogations he had with one of the children.

He stressed that, nobody had approach the police to give details of what happened.

Construction of roads should be a shared responsibility- Hon.Stephen Jalula

Deputy Minister-Designate for Roads and Highways, Stephen Jalula, has stated that Ghanaians should help the government in construction of roads in the country.

Answering to a question by the Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu at the Appointments Committee of Parliament said, for the government to construct major roads in the country, they need to think outside the box.

According to him, they will have to increase the toll booths in the country whiles Real Estate developers should also help construct roads in some communities.

He added that, religious leaders, traders and well being people should help construct roads in their various communities.

The Committee has since last week vetted close to 20 of the 40 nominees.

On Wednesday, June 9, the Committee vetted four nominees including Mr. John Kumah, Deputy Minister-Designate for Finance, and Mr. Alhassan Tampuli, the Deputy Minister-Designate for Transport.

 

 

29th Anniversary: Ghana wouldn’t be like this without NDC- Otukonor

Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Buamah Otukonor has urged Ghanaians to thank God for gifting them the NDC political party.

According to him, Ghana wouldn’t have seen developmental projects if the party wasn’t in existence.

He added that, all the developmental projects in the country was done by the National Democratic Congress hence the need for Ghana to jubilate that NDC through their democracy has help develop the country.

He made this known after the NDC is celebrated its 29th anniversary today, [Thursday], June 10, 2021.

At an event to commemorate the party’s 29th anniversary, Mr. Buamah said the NDC’s achievements cannot be compared to any other political party in Ghana.

Deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Obiri Boahen said, the party should remember the late Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings as they mark their 29th anniversary.

He added that, the establishment of the NDC has helped the democracy in the country.

We are strongly behind you- Prez Akufo Addo to Prez Christian Kabore

President of the Republic of Ghana who doubles as the Chairman of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Akufo Addo has expressed his deepest condolence to President Roch Christian Kabore and the citizens of Burkina Faso after 160 people in a village raid in Burkina Faso by unknown militants.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of States and Government of ECOWAS has travelled to Burkina Faso to express his solidarity to the neighboring country.

According to him, he is there as the President of Ghana and also the Chairman of ECOWAS with a mission to help eradicate these unknown militants from the country.

He added that, ECOWAS is strongly behind the people of Burkina Faso and will do everything to help protect them.

Covid-19 vaccines saga: Journalist explain why Ghana was investigated

A popular Norwegian website has alleged that Ghanaian government officials have signed an agreement to purchase Sputnik vaccines manufactured and produced in Russia for 19 dollars per dose instead of 10 dollars.

Lead Investigator, Marcus Tebayio of Verdens Gang Newspaper (VG newspaper) speaking to the media in Ghana explained what triggered them to investigate Ghana.

According to him, they saw a Ghanaian newspaper published that someone has been involve in negotiating for the Sputnik vaccines for Ghana and they decided to investigate that.

He added that, the alleged person (Morten Hansen)is a Pakistani national who grew up in Norway and had been charged with fraud in 2010 in Norway.

He noted that, the person is not a manufacture but rather an intermediary who has worked closely with Sheik Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum of the Royal Family in Dubai and he (Morten Hansen) was with the Ministry of Health, Hon. Agyemang Manu when the 16,000 covid-19 vaccines arrived in the country hence the need for them to investigate the country.

In a detailed report by the website, www.vg.no, the Minister of Health Kwaku Agyemang Manu is reported to have signed the contract with an Emirati official who was involved in the sale of Gas Turbines to Ghana in the controversial Ameri deal and another wanted Norwegian citizen.

 

 

All set for the planting of 5 million trees

The Forestry Commission, through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, has launched the Green Ghana Project to plant five million trees across the country.

The project forms part of activities to mark this year’s International Day of Forest.

The Green Ghana initiative will officially commence on June 11, 2021, to encourage Ghanaians to plant more trees to preserve and protect the country’s forest cover and the environment.

Public Relations Officer for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Henrietta Konadu Aboagye speaking to Kwabena Wireko on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show explained the schedules ahead of the Green Ghana Project.

According to her, the Assembly together with the Forestry commission will start from State Experimental School at Nhyiaeso.

She added that, they want to plant about 200,000 trees across the Kumasi Metropolitan.

She noted that, they will plant others at some market centers, schools, some institutions and religious places.

She stressed that, they will cage and nature the tress until they grow.
