 Hon Michael Amoah Awuku- Municipal Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region has called on Ghanaians to be responsible and safeguarding the tree planting project by Forestry Commission than planting to accomplish the objectives setting towards Greening Ghana Project.

At the planting of trees at under the Green Ghana Project at Nkawie aimed to plant more trees to protect the environment and forest reserves.

Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, Hon Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere said the tree planting is not a fan fair but a serious business venture and needs critical attention as we move ahead as the country.

The District Forestry Manager, Mr. Nifaasoyir Chrisantus entreated all sundries to be active participated.

Prisoners are responsible for Mobile Money fraud- Ex. Convict reveals

Ex Convict at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, Daniel Ofori has shared some bad activities been done by these convict.

Daniel Ofori who was jailed ten (10) years for smuggling cocaine said, prisoners are responsible for mobile money fraud that has become rampant in the country.

Narrating how the process is been done, he stated that, the randomly pick a number and called the unsuspected victim of either winning a promotion from the said network and order them to dial a short code they will be given to and in the process dupe the victim his money.

According to him, there have a mobile money merchant in the prison where they retrieve the money after duping someone.

He added that, there are others who pose as mallams and call someone to convince them that, someone is trying to destroy him so he should send him money to protect him.

He revealed that, they have recorded the siren of police and also some soundtrack of major roads and airport to dupe their victims.

He noted that, it is very difficult to change a person who has been jailed.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. Speaking on the Omanbapa morning show, he said the 6th year medical students would spend 3 weeks on campus for exams before they end the semester and the 5th year also follow suit afterwards due to social distancing. NDC YOUTH VANDALIZED PARTY OFFICE

  Irate youth of the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency have vandalized the office of the National Democratic Congress at Suame. Leader angry youth, Mohammed Naail speaking to Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the executives  within the party has failed to meet up to their expectation. According to him, the constituency Chairman does not vote at the Suame Constituency hence he can’t become the Chairman of the party per their rules. He added that, there is an injunction on Shaba by the court that prevents him from entering the party’s office. He noted that, they felt disappointed towards the Ashanti regional Chairman on the NDC for giving a clearance letter to Shaba to become the Chairman of the constituency without informing anybody. He disclosed that, they vandalized the office to express their dissatisfaction towards the leaders of the party. GHANA RISK OF FOOD DROUGHT IF DESERTIFICATION PERSISTS-WETLAND MANAGER WARNS

Dickson Agyemang, Operations manager for Wetland under the Forestry Commission has revealed that consistent desertification of lands and building in water ways may lead the country into food crisis in the coming years. Ghana is losing more than 20 percent forest reserve every year due to desertification such as mining activities, felling down of trees and the likes, he revealed when speaking on Omanbapa show with Nana Ampratwum. He added that Ghana is in a risk of food crisis and extreme poverty if we continue the activities that destroy farmlands and forest reserves. Mr. Agyemang therefore encouraged Ghanaians to report people who build in water areas for legal action to be taken against them.
