KMA to demolish unauthorized buildings

Town and country department under the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) are set to demolish unauthorized buildings in the country.

Owners who do not have a permit will have their structures pulled down by the authorities.

Kumasi Metropolitan City Engineer, Mr. David Ameyaw speaking to the media said, a developer has been seen building a structure without any permit at Duase in the Kumasi Metropolis.

According to him, the structure is very weak and will cause a great havoc if care is not taken.

He added that, they ordered him to stop work and gave him a letter to his preferred consultant which came out that, the structure needs to be demolished.

He noted that, the developer was still building the structure at the blind side of the Engineers.

He stressed that, they will demolish the building before it collapse on any resident.

Kasoa: Rt. Chief Inspector rapes granddaughter

 A 72 year old retired Police Chief Inspector, Samuel Larbi has been arrested by the Kasoa Police for allegedly defiling her 6 years old granddaughter.

Sister of the victim who spoke in anonymity said, the suspect has been defiling the child for about one year.

According to her, she saw blood oozing from the girl’s vagina after she urinated and upon interrogations revealed that, the victim has been having sex with her for a long time.

She added that, the victim had been living with the suspect after their parents died.

The victim (name withheld) in an interview said the suspect has been inserting his fingers into her vagina and warned her not to disclose to anyone.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. Speaking on the Omanbapa morning show, he said the 6th year medical students would spend 3 weeks on campus for exams before they end the semester and the 5th year also follow suit afterwards due to social distancing. This follows the easing of Covid-19 restrictions to enable educational institutions to re-open for final year students on June 15. To the Editor, Why I didn’t show up for the morning news production on Monday On that fateful day (Monday, April 4 th 2022) I was preparing to come and produce the morning news despite the heavy rainfall and lack of electricity in my area. I was ready to come around 4:30am when my father ordered me to wait due to crime rate in my area and especially such an ungodly hour. From where l stay, I have to board a taxi to the main road before getting a car to work but unfortunately, there was no car at the time I arrived there around 5:10am because of the rain and lack of electricity.   Have confidence; I’m determined to fix economy despite downgrade – Nana Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident Ghana’s economy will bounce back despite the recent downgrade by international rating agency, Standard & Poor’s (S&P).
