Prof. Attafuah’s comment is uncalled for- Obiri Boahen

Deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Obiri Boahen has lambasted Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Professor Kenneth Agyeman Attafuah for his comments he has made earlier.

 Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Professor Kenneth Agyeman Attafuah, has said he will not recruit any member of the party. The NIA intends to set up district and regional offices across the country.

This is to enable persons who could not register during the National Identification mass registration to do so.

Based on this, members of the NPP were hoping to be given an advantage during the recruitment.

But Prof Attafuah is quoted to have said he will not hire any NPP member because President Nana Akufo-Addo has “charged him to build a neutral public service.”

This comment has angered the rank-and-file of the party including the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr Agyapong.

…KENNEDY AGYAPONG….                                Lawyer Obiri Boahen speaking to the media said, political parties would not been in existence without the help of their supporters.

According to him, a party member should have a benefit from their leaders and it’s needless for Prof. Attafuah to make such comments.

He again added that, it is never true that, President Akufo Addo ordered him not to recruit members of the New Patriotic Party.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. Speaking on the Omanbapa morning show, he said the 6th year medical students would spend 3 weeks on campus for exams before they end the semester and the 5th year also follow suit afterwards due to social distancing. To the Editor, Why I didn’t show up for the morning news production on Monday On that fateful day (Monday, April 4 th 2022) I was preparing to come and produce the morning news despite the heavy rainfall and lack of electricity in my area. I was ready to come around 4:30am when my father ordered me to wait due to crime rate in my area and especially such an ungodly hour. From where l stay, I have to board a taxi to the main road before getting a car to work but unfortunately, there was no car at the time I arrived there around 5:10am because of the rain and lack of electricity. I had no other option than to wait because I might be attacked if I decided to walk to the main road that’s why I couldn’t get here on time to produce to morning news.   Have confidence; I’m determined to fix economy despite downgrade – Nana Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident Ghana’s economy will bounce back despite the recent downgrade by international rating agency, Standard & Poor’s (S&P).
