Ejura incident report: All we want is Justice- Abubakar

Brother of the late Abdul Nasiru Yusif, Abdullai Abubakar has stated that, they have heard about the reports of the Committee but have not been officially informed.

Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, all the families demand is justice only.

Abdul Nasiru Yusif was one of the victims who were shot dead after the riots that happened at Ejura.

The three-member ministerial committee tasked to investigate the disturbances recorded at Ejura in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, has presented its findings to the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery.

The committee recommended the removal of the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ejura-Sekyedumase Assembly.

Abdulai Abubakar revealed that, the committee wasn’t fair enough per their reports.

According to him, the MCE, Mohammed Salisu Bamba, has already withdrawn from his post whiles and also think it is not reasonable to transfer the Police Commander in the area.

He added that, Ashanti regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah should have been sanctioned not the Military Officer that led the troops to the area.

Speaking on the Omanbapa morning show, he said the 6th year medical students would spend 3 weeks on campus for exams before they end the semester and the 5th year also follow suit afterwards due to social distancing. This follows the easing of Covid-19 restrictions to enable educational institutions to re-open for final year students on June 15. Dr. Bekoe also clarified that no students has been asked to come for their belongings at the campus as speculated on the social media.

To the Editor, Why I didn’t show up for the morning news production on Monday On that fateful day (Monday, April 4 th 2022) I was preparing to come and produce the morning news despite the heavy rainfall and lack of electricity in my area. I was ready to come around 4:30am when my father ordered me to wait due to crime rate in my area and especially such an ungodly hour. From where l stay, I have to board a taxi to the main road before getting a car to work but unfortunately, there was no car at the time I arrived there around 5:10am because of the rain and lack of electricity.   Have confidence; I’m determined to fix economy despite downgrade – Nana Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident Ghana’s economy will bounce back despite the recent downgrade by international rating agency, Standard & Poor’s (S&P).
