#GHBUDGET: Calling for the scraping of some taxes is uncalled for- Tax Expert jabs Hon. Jinapor

Tax Expert, Nana Adu Gyamfi has jabbed Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, Hon. John Jinapor for calling for the scraping of some taxes introduced earlier this year.

Hon. John Jinapor, has said the government deserves no commendation for not asking for additional money during the mid-year budget review.

Mr. Jinapor insisted that government should have used the opportunity to scrap some of the new taxes introduced earlier in the year.

According to him, that was the only way the government could have shown sympathy to the suffering Ghanaian.

But Nana Adu Gyamfi speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show disagrees with the legislator.

According to him, the government earlier disclosed the rationale behind the introduction of the new taxes this year.

He added that, Ghanaians were made aware that, the new taxes were introduced as the result of the “Agenda 111” that will be used to construct hospitals in the country.

He noted that, Hon. Jinapor indirectly is telling the government to stop the construction of the hospitals if he wants the taxes scraped.

He stressed that, the taxes should stay only of it will help the country’s economy.
