We were in need of Psychiatric hospital- Dr. Osei

 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mental Health Authority, Dr Akwasi Osei has expressed their excitement after the government’s decision to build Psychiatric hospitals for them.

Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta during the presentation of the Mid-year budget said, the Government’s ambitious project to construct a number of hospitals referred to as ‘Agenda 111’ is set to commence in August 2021.

He disclosed that the government has decided to execute the initiative in two phases with the first phase, being the processes completed.

Dr. Akwasi Osei speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, they were in dire of Psychiatric hospitals that will help them a lot.

According to him, they only have three Psychiatric hospitals across the country.

He added that, they face a lot of challenges when delivering their work hence the need to commend the government’s decision.

He again added that, the hospital will built at Tamale and Ashanti region.

NDC YOUTH VANDALIZED PARTY OFFICE

  Irate youth of the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency have vandalized the office of the National Democratic Congress at Suame. Leader angry youth, Mohammed Naail speaking to Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the executives  within the party has failed to meet up to their expectation. According to him, the constituency Chairman does not vote at the Suame Constituency hence he can’t become the Chairman of the party per their rules. He added that, there is an injunction on Shaba by the court that prevents him from entering the party’s office. He noted that, they felt disappointed towards the Ashanti regional Chairman on the NDC for giving a clearance letter to Shaba to become the Chairman of the constituency without informing anybody. He disclosed that, they vandalized the office to express their dissatisfaction towards the leaders of the party. GHANA RISK OF FOOD DROUGHT IF DESERTIFICATION PERSISTS-WETLAND MANAGER WARNS

Dickson Agyemang, Operations manager for Wetland under the Forestry Commission has revealed that consistent desertification of lands and building in water ways may lead the country into food crisis in the coming years. Ghana is losing more than 20 percent forest reserve every year due to desertification such as mining activities, felling down of trees and the likes, he revealed when speaking on Omanbapa show with Nana Ampratwum. He added that Ghana is in a risk of food crisis and extreme poverty if we continue the activities that destroy farmlands and forest reserves. Mr. Agyemang therefore encouraged Ghanaians to report people who build in water areas for legal action to be taken against them.
