COVID-19: Educate your people through information centers- MP to Assembly members

 

 

The Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Johnson Kwaku Adu has advised the Assembly members within the District to as a matter of urgency educate their people about the covid-19 through their information centers.

Speaking to Silver fm’s Kwabena Wireko during the General Assembly meeting at Mankranso said, the third wave of the covid-19 according to the Health Officials is very dangerous compared to the previous once hence the need for them to educate their people on how to adhere to all safety protocols to help curb the spread of the virus.

He again commended the District Education Directorate and Teachers for their best performance in the just 2020 ended BECE and WASSCE.

He disclosed that, Ahafo Ano South West placed 8th in the Ashanti region.

Currently, the active cases stand at 6,765 with 345 new cases.

The Ghana Health Service has disclosed that the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will be available from today.

Director of Health Promotion at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Aboagye Dacosta speaking to the media said, the first tranche will start from the hotspots in Accra and Ashanti.

According to him, those who have already taking the Astra Zeneca should not visit any center for this Johnson and Johnson jab.

The vaccine shots will be given out in 11 districts; seven in the Greater Accra Region and four in the Greater Kumasi metro.

Ghana has received its first batch of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines under the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT), a move initiated by the African Union (AU).

Dr. Dacosta added that, they already have those who have taken the first jab on their system that will be used to prevent them from taking this jab.

He again urged all pregnant women to desist from taking this jab.
