Covid-19 protocols: Ghanaians reaction on wearing of nose mask

  

Some Ghanaians within Kumasi Metropolis have stated why they do not observe the safety protocols to help curb the spread of covid-19 in the country.

Speaking to Joynewsplus reporter, Nana Frimpong, they revealed that, though they are aware that, the active cases of the covid-19 keeps rising due to the government negligence.

A new and more dangerous variant of COVID-19 has been identified by the World Health Organisation known as Delta Variant.

Currently, Ghana has recorded 518 new cases making the active case rise up to 6, 276 according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), six Delta variants of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus) have been detected in the country.

The Delta variant constitute 90% of community spread in the country which has raised a lot of concerns about citizens’ safety and the country’s fight against the deadly virus.

President Akufo Addo and the Ghana Health Service on several occasions advised Ghanaians to continue to adhere to all the safety protocols to help curb the spread of the virus.

The wearing of nose mask, washing the hands with soap under running water regularly, observing social distancing and avoid touching the face with the hands are all part of the safety protocols to help curb the spread of the virus.

One lady said, she will only wear the mask when approaching someone or if she is in the vehicle.

Another said, he doesn’t believe the covid-19 exist because he has not witness anyone from his community had contracted the virus.

According to others, they had the mask in their pockets but forgot to wear them.
