COVID-19: Unadherence to protocols very worried- GMA

 


The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has bemoaned how some Ghanaians have become reluctant to adhere to all the safety protocols to help curb the spread of the virus.

General Secretary of the Association, Dr. Justice Yankson speaking to the media said, the current upsurge of the active cases is the results of not adhering to the protocols.

According to him, the Delta Variant is very deadlier, faster which is very worried.

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), has claimed a total of 545 lives in Ghana almost eight months into 2021.

This implies that the number of COVID-19 related deaths, which stood at 335 at the end of 2020 has almost doubled in 2021. The death toll is currently at 880.

Updates from the Ghana Health Service COVID-19 dashboard show that, as of August 6, 2021, the active Coronavirus cases stand at 6,922.

Dr. Yankson added that, the rate at which people are dying from the Delta Variant is very alarming.

He again said, it will be necessary if the government deploy the Military to enforce that Ghanaians adhere to the protocols.

He pleaded with Ghanaians to adhere to all the safety protocols.

 


Dormaa East will see massive development- President Akufo Addo

President Akufo Addo has assured residents of Wamfie in the Dormaa East in the Bono Region, the government will do everything to ensure that Wamfie see massive development.

According to him, the government will expand their district Hospital to help save lives in the district.

President Akufo Addo made this known during his two day working visit to the Bono region.

President Akufo Addo assured them that, the government will do everything to construct their deplorable roads.

Chief of Wamfie, Barima Ansu Gyeabour appealed to the President to as a matter of urgency provide the needed materials for the only Senior High school in the area.
