Justice Samuel Marfo-Sau was my hero- JUSAG President
President of the Judicial Service Staff Association (JUSAG), Mr. Alex Nartey has praised the late Justice Samuel Marfo-Sau as a man in a million.
Justice Samuel Marful-Sau, a judge at Ghana’s Supreme Court has died, close sources at the apex court and local media has reported.
The long-standing member of the bench died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, after a short illness, rIn the last few weeks before the legal break, the 64-year-old Judge had not been on any panel of the Supreme Court. Marful-Sau was nominated together with three other judges by President Nana Akufo-Addo in 2018.
The top judge was part of the seven-member panel that heard the 2020 election petition by the NDC’s John Mahama against the Electoral Commission of Ghana and Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Alex Nartey speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, he gain a lot of experience in the legal affairs after working closely with the late Justice Sau as his Supervisor in 2010.
According to him, Justice Samuel Marfo-Sau was a God fearing man who worked accordingly to the principles of God.
He added that, Justice Samuel Sau served on so many development and reforms committee.
He stressed that, Ghana has lost a great man.
NDC party is now keep-fit club-NDC man
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has now turned into a KEEP-FIT club.
The Former Flagbearer Contestant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a member of of the party's communication team, Mr. Stephen Atubiga has stated.
He added that, the party can best be described as a "presser counter" party elaborating that, they are only interested in organising unnecessary press conferences instead of reforming and restructuring the party.
He added that, the so called demonstrations recently organised by the party was just a KEEP-FIT movement to exercise their body.
Speaking on Silver FM's Morning Show monitored by Joynewsplus admonished Ghanaians not to take the NDC party serious as they are not ready to learn from their mistakes.
Furthermore he said, whiles the NPP is developing the country, the NDC on the other end is muddying the waters by throwing dust into the eyes of the citizenry as part of their propaganda.
" The party has now turned from their tradition social democrat and now they are only good at Keep fit organisation. Anytime you see them on the street, put on red atire and join them with Asante Kotoko Flag because they are more than a football funbase", the National Liberation Congress Party leader urged Ghanaians on the Omanbapa Morning Show.
Thieves butcher security man at Gomoa Techiam
Some unknown thieves have butchered one security man at Gomoa Techiam in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The incident was reportedly occured on Wednesday dawn around 4:30 am in a proposed poultry farm projects site and successfully made away with metals meant for the construction of the poultry farm.
According to the owner of the poultry farm, Mrs. Samia Osei, the thieves went to the site around 1:45am, butchered one of the security men and locked them up.
She added that, the thieves made away with quarter of the building materials that were imported from China worth about 500,000 US dollars.
The stolen items contain beams, stainless steel poles, doors etc.
She therefore entreated the public to help them retrieve the stolen items as the person will be given a bounty cash of GHc2,000.
Abom-Mentukwa: Residents lament over social amenities
Residents of Abom-Mentukwa in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti region are lamenting bitterly due to the inadequate infrastructures in the community.
Some of the residents speaking to Joynewsplus said, the community lacks social amenities like, portable water, school building, hospital, good road etc.
According to them, both male and female use the dumping site as the only place to ease themselves due to the lack of toilet facility in the area.
They bemoaned that, school children travels a long distance to go to school which has compelled some of them to quit schooling hence the need for the government to intervene.
“Pregnant women sometimes have miscarriages whenever they ply the poor road network to visit antenatal at the hospital in the available community”, they stressed.
They noted that, there is no electricity in the area which is making life unbearable for them.
Abom- Mentukwa is one of the communities in Amansie West that has been deprived of social amenities.
Manso Yawkrom, a community in Amansie west district of Ashanti is also lamenting over poor road network in the area.
The government over years has been benefiting from the communities in terms of natural resources.
The communities can boast of gold and timber.
I have a lot of Bono natives in my government- President Akufo Addo
President Akufo Addo has stated that, there are a lot of people from the Bono Region in his government.
Speaking in the Bono Region, during his two-day tour of the region, President Akufo-Addo said, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah has been on e of the key members working for the peaceful coexistence at the Ghana Labor Relations and also MP for Suynai West, Hon. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cherimeh has also been appointed as the Board Chairman for Bui Power Authority.
He added that, Mr. Kwaku Asomah-Kyeremeh had also been appointed Ghana’s High Commissioner to India while Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the MP for Dormaa Central and Minister of Health who is receiving slaps [from Ghanaians]. He is an indigene of Dormaa. He has really suffered in that Health Ministry and is still suffering,” he said of the appointee while laughing together with dignitaries and others gathered at the venue.
Sunyani water projects will be constructed soon- Akufo Addo
President Akufo Addo has assured the Chiefs and residents of Sunyani that, soon the Sunyani Water project will so commence.
According to him, the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah has cut the sod on behalf of him hence the need for the residents to have little patients with them.
He added that, the government has secured $200m for the construction of the project.
President Akufo Addo made this known to the media in his two- day working visit to the Bono region.
They water project will be done after the procurement has been done.
Paramount Chief of Sunyani traditional council, Nana Bosoma Aso Nkrawri II has commended President Akufo Addo for the construction of some major roads in the community.
NPP: Members will be re-registered again- Obiri Boahen
Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Obiri Boahen has stated that, the party will soon embark on a re-registration of its party’s members.
According to him, all bearing party cards holders will have to visit their nearest party office to register again when the time is due.
He made this known to the media after they announced dates for its Constituency Annual Delegates Conferences in all the 275 constituencies across the country.
Lawyer Obiri Boahen added that, the timeframe for the National Officers will end by April 2022 hence the need for them to embark on their annual delegations.
According to him, the conferences will begin Saturday, August 21 and end Friday, August 27 in accordance with 7(27) of the party’s constitution.
He added that, they will start from the Polling stations in the constituency to the regional and then ends at the National level.
He noted that, the party has planned to do a re- registration of its membership cards to avoid any misunderstanding.
He revealed that, there are a lot of people who donates financially to the party but doesn’t bear any party card.
The party has however cautioned that members adhere to Covid-19 protocols during the conferences by following these guidelines:
1. Delegates/Attendees to each Constituency Conference shall not exceed 250 people. In other words. the Conferences shall be held in groups of 250 on the average, at the same or different venues within the Constituency depending on the Constituency’s peculiarities
2. Each Conference shall be held in an open and airy environment
3. There shall be strict adherence to social dimming protocols
4. Delegates/Attende. to the Conferences shall at all times wear a face mask. 5. There shall be regular washing of hands and hand-sanitizing
6. The Conferences shall be held within 2 hours in line with the President’s recent directives.
Nkran residents: Gov’t has neglected us
Residents of Atwima Nkran in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti region have accused the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere and the government for neglecting them infrastructural projects.
According to them, the roads that, link them to Nkawie and Atwima Foase to Atwima Nkran are now in a poor state.
They added that, life has become unbearable for them since they have been deprived of some social amenities.
“There is no portable water, no hospital facility, poor road network, which has make life unbearable for us”, the lamented.
They noted that, they have made series of complains to the Member of Parliament and the Assembly to as a matter of urgency come to their aid but all have proved futile.
They disclosed that, drivers find it difficult to ply the road when it rains due to the current state of the road.
Two alleged gold thieves receive severe beatings of their lifes after being busted
Two male thieves have received severe brutalities of their lifes after they were being busted for an alleged gold theft.
The incident which happened at Manso Asamang could see the two being recorded in a video as they receive severe beatings as several onlookers gathered around to watch.
Mixed reaction about Obofour enstoolment
A lot of Ghanaians have shared their views and comments about the enstoolment of Rev. Francis Antwi, aka, Rev. Obofour as a Chief in Accra.
Reverend Francis Antwi popularly known as Rev Obofour has been enstooled as a chief in
Accra.
A ceremony was held over the weekend to enstool the founder of the Anointed Palace Chapel (APC) as a Ga Sempe Mants3 at Bortianor. The man of God can now be addressed as Nii Adotey Gyata 1, his stool name.
According to the Bortianor traditional community, the decision to enstool Obofour as a chief is to appreciate his philanthropic activities and significant impact in the community.
The enstooling ceremony happened within 2 days for the traditional rites to be performed. On day 1, Rev Obofour was picked up by on Saturday evening by men from the Bortianor traditional council and on Sunday, he was out doored at a mini festival.
Wife of the affluent Ghanaian preacher, Ciara Antwi, was present at the ceremony which also her being dressed as Queen Mother of the Bortianor traditional community.
Other chiefs of the community graced the ceremony to pay homage to Obofour the new chief. See the video below from the colourinful out dooring ceremony which had hundreds of people in attendance treated to drumming and dancing with gunshots being fired.
Some Ghanaians taking to the social media said, a respected pastor like Rev. Obofour should not allow himself to be enstooled as a Chief according to the bible.
Others said, Rev. Obofour should quit been a pastor because he can’t serve two masters at a time.
“Rev. Obofour has really proved that, he is a fake man of God hence the need for him to seek forgiveness from God before it’s too late” other said.
