Group calls on President Akufo-Addo to reinstate Bagbin’s soldiers

A group calling itself Crossfire Ghana is calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to intervene in President Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin’s security heckling to avert the unexpected.

Conveyor of the group, Nana Osei Tutu speaking to the media said, they are concern over the timing of the removal of military officers from the president’s office following recent events in parliament.

According to him, everyone knows the current state of affairs of the parliament and the vocal nature of the current president, especially in the fight to make parliament truly independent against the best expectations of the executive hence its unnecessary to remove his military officers.

He added that, “If indeed the reason behind this action as stipulated is to regularize the seizure, must the men be removed at the risk of the safety of the President before the said regularization can be effected”.

H noted that, the safety of the Speaker is very paramount to Ghanaians.
