NPP issues ‘warning’ to party stalwarts after Alan’s purchase of forms for aspiring polling station executives
The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said it has taken note of reports that some leading personalities of the party have procured application forms for aspiring polling station executives.
This comes after Trade Minister Mr Alan Kyeremateng has reportedly paid for nomination forms for all aspiring polling station executives across the country.
Mr Kyeremateng is reported to have funded the entire nomination forms in all 275 constituencies to facilitate the ongoing polling station level election process within the elephant family.
To lessen the burden on the grassroots leaders, the party stalwart sent out moneys to the various constituencies to cover the cost which otherwise would have been borne by the very grassroots members of the party.
But, at a press conference in Accra, the National Chairman of the NPP, Mr Freddie Blay advised that any such matters relating to financial support in this process must be channeled through the National Party Secretariat for uniformity, fairness and accountability.
According to him, the party wish to advise that any such matters relating to financial support in this process must be channeled through the National Party Secretariat for uniformity, fairness and accountability.
He added that, with immediate effect, the party is also dispatching officers to reported areas of disturbances for fact-finding and investigations, and where necessary, disciplinary sanctions will be applied.

No one in NPP can prevent an aspirant from picking nomination forms - Nana B charges
The National Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic
Party (NPP), Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye, aka Nana B has urged all aspirants in
the NPP to pick their forms at either the Regional or national levels.
He made this announcement in reaction to reports that the party's nomination
forms are being hoarded by some executives for their favorite candidates.
There are suspicions that Kwadaso constituency executive members are trying to
deny some aspirants from picking the forms.
There was chaos at the Kade Constituency office of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Eastern region over alleged hoarding of polling station forms.
This was followed by the supporters and Executives at Manhyia South after they accused the MP and some Executives for conniving to sell the forms to some new members vying for a position at the Polling station level after Hon. Alan Kyeremateng, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Mr. Antwi Boasiako paid the forms for them.
This incident continued in some major constituencies in the country.
Nana B has debunked the claims, hence stating emphatically that no one has the right to refuse an aspirant the opportunity to pick forms.
According to him, there are plenty forms available and no one has the authority to deny anyone who is eligible nomination forms.

Transport fares to go up 15% from February 26
Road Transport Operators have concluded negotiations on increment in fares pegging the percentage increase at 15 percent.
Earlier, the transport unions proposed a 30 percent upward adjustment but after a meeting today, Monday February 21, 2022, the operators have agreed to increase public transport fares by 15 percent.
General Secretary for Road Transport Union, Mr. Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah speaking to the media said, these new fares will take effect Saturday, February 26, 2022. It includes fares for shared taxis, intra-city (tro-tro) and intercity (long distance).
The increment according to him is in line with the administrative arrangement on public transport fares and after intense negotiations with stakeholders and in consideration of the plight of drivers, commuters and the general public.
He also cited current trends on the international market and its impact on domestic fuel prices.
He kindly requests all commercial transport operators to comply with the new fares and post same at three loading terminals to prevent any confusion between drivers and passengers.
The decision to increase transport fares has been necessitated by the economic hardship the country is facing and its negative impact on their work.
Various transport association say the high cost of fuel, high import duty on vehicles, increase in the cost of spare parts and vehicle lubricants are among the reasons.
