Xavier- Sosu is becoming a problem to the Nation- Lawyer Ampaw
Private legal Practitioner, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has chided the Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis Xavier- Sosu Esq. following his comments he made against the Judges in the country.
Lawyer Xavier- Sosu last week during the “Yentua” demonstration used the opportunity to caution judges to desist from being bias and political in the discharge of their duties.
According to him, this undermines the integrity of the judiciary; adding that judges who conduct themselves in that manner may be dealt with politically when there’s a change of power.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), has expressed displeasure over the comments, Hon. Francis- Xavier Sosu Esq. made.
In a statement issued on February 14, the Association said the remarks by the NDC lawmaker are ‘ignorant’ and ‘irresponsible’, with the possibility of courting disaffection for the judges and exposing them to danger.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw speaking to the media said, Hon. Francis Sosu Esq. is becoming a problem to the nation.
According to him, he has become arrogant since he assumed the office at the MP for Madina.
He added that, Hon. Sosu for some time now has become reluctant in the country.
Lawyer Ampaw noted that, Hon. Sosu statements reveals that, any Judge who doesn’t rule in favor of the NDC is an NPP member and will deal with him when they come into power.

Barker-Vormawor could be sentence to death- Lawyer Bekai
Private Legal Practitioner, Lawyer Kofi Bekai has revealed that lead convener for #FixTheCountry, Oliver Barker- Vormawor could be sentence to death if he is found guilty of the treason felony charge he is facing.
Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show, he said, the treason felony charge is very serious and considered a first-degree felony.
The Ashaiman District Court on Monday, February 14, 2022, remanded Barker-Vormawor, into police custody till February 28.
Barker-Vormawor was arrested on Friday, February 11, upon his return to the country.
The police statement stated, his arrest was necessitated following a comment he made on the social media platforms to the effect that he would stage a coup if the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy popularly known as E-levy is passed into law.
Oliver Barker-Vormawor made the post after pictures of the E-levy cake at the Majority Leader’s 65th birthday party went viral.
During the court hearing, the lawyer for the suspect, Akoto Ampaw, prayed the court to grant him bail but the prosecutor, ASP Sylvester Asare, opposed the plea and asked that he be remanded due to the nature of the case.
Lawyer Bekai added that, the charge is a first degree felony which requires a maximum punishment.
According to him, Oliver- Barker will have to face the consequences ones he has make such comments.
He added that, his comments can urge someone to embark on a coup or he himself is ready to lead a coup in the country.

Mahama has connived with Al Qaeda to stage a coup in Ghana – Abronye alleges
The Bono regional chairman of the NPP Abronye DC has alleged that former President John Mahama has met the Al Qaeda militants to stage a coup in Ghana.
According to the NPP stalwart, John Mahama is in ties with the group to help him undertake a coup to become president again.
The regional chairman made the allegation while responding to issues leading to the arrest of convener Oliver Barker on his attempt to make a coup if E-levy is passed.
Oliver Barker is a former presidential staffer under Mahama as stressed. Abronye Kwame DC questions why former president Mahama will tweet under Mr. Barker’s post if he has no idea of what he is planning for.
According to him, Oliver Baker- Vormawor is not a lawyer and has never been to the Ghana School of Law before.

Is difficult for the Prosecutors to prove their case- Lawyer Amaliba
Private Legal Practitioner who doubles as a legal team member for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Abraham Amaliba has revealed that, it will be difficult for the Police to prove their case against Oliver Barker- Vormawor at the court.
Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been charged with treason felony.
This is an offence provided for in section 182(b) of Ghana’s Criminal offences Act.
This provides; “Section 182—Treason Felony. A person is guilty of treason-felony and shall be punishable as for first-degree felony who —
b) prepares or endeavours to carry out by unlawful means any enterprise which usurps the executive power of the State in any matter of both a public and a general nature.“
Last Thursday, Mr Vormawor took to social media to threaten a coup following pictures emerging from the Majority Leader’s 65th birthday bash showing an ‘E-levy’-designed cake.
He posted, “If this E-Levy passes after this cake bullshit, I will do the coup myself. Useless Army!”
But Lawyer Amaliba speaking to the media said, the Police knew that, Oliver Barker will not get a bail hence decided to go a District court instead of a High Court.
According to him, the Police wants to punish him (Oliver Barker) hence charging him with such a felony.
He added that, Oliver Barker can spend beyond 15 years or sentence to life imprisonment if found guilty.
