Work on Boankra inland port to commence by August 8 – Ejisu MCE

Municipal Chief Executive of the Ejisu Municipality, Samuel Oduro Frimpong has disclosed that, work is set to commence on the Boankra Inland Port by August 8, 2022 after being abandoned.

Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, a company called Ashanti Port Services has been handed over the project with the assurance that, work will commence on either by the end of July or August 8th, 2022.

According to him, Ejisu will be the “Tema” of Ashanti region if the project is being completed.

The over $400 million project, which sits on a 100-hectare land, was initiated by former President John Agyekum Kufuor and stalled for over ten years after change of government.

On November 5, 2020, President Nana Akufo-Addo together with Otumfour Osei Tutu II cut the sod for resumption of work on the project, a development which according to residents of Boankra was a long awaited intervention which they warmly welcomed.
