Ashaiman: You erred- Security Expert to Military over alleged brutality
A Security Analyst, Dr. Adam Bonaa has said the Military should have allowed the Police to investigate the circumstances under which one of them was allegedly killed in Ashaiman rather than taking the law into their own hands.
Dr. Bonaa indicated that the act of brutalizing civilians by the military was wrong.
Some soldiers on Tuesday, March 7, reportedly invaded Ashaiman, a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra region, and brutalized residents in the area over the death of their colleague.
The young soldier with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band from Sunyani in the Bono Region was slain in Taifa, an Ashaiman neighbourhood.
According to sources, the sad situation happened when the soldier returned from his girlfriend’s home in Taifa and moved toward his domicile in Zongo-Laka in Ashaiman.
But Dr. Bonaa speaking to the media said, the soldiers should have left this (killing their military man) in the hands of the police for investigations but the manner in which the soldiers undertook the operation was not right.

Meanwhile, Director of Academic Affairs, Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Prof Vladimir Antwi Danso reacting to the Military brutality called on Ghanaians to reason with the Soldiers since they lost one of their own.
According to him, it is natural even in war times, they (Military) will try to do a kind of rescue operation to save their own adding that, attacking a Military officer is not acceptable adding that, Ghanaians should not be judgmental in thinking that, the Military are always interested in brutalizing civilians but just ordinary human being will react the same way.
