Combined Kumasi traders demand completion of central market

Combined traders at central market have expressed frustration about the state of the project and its toll on the commercial activities within the enclave.

Central market if completed will house banks, fire stations, retail outlets, leisure centers, warehouses, offices, and clinics as well as police stations.

Speaking to media at press briefing, the secretary of the group, Emelia Asare Koffie said, traders were evicted without any place being allocated to them it took the Ashanti Otumfour Osei Tutu II through the KMA to give them a piece of land at racecourse of this evicted traders to find their metal containers whiles others ended up in the house jobless.

They therefore demand the completion of the abandoned central market phase.

Meanwhile some affected evicted traders emphasis their ordeal.

However, KMA Mayor Hon. Samuel Pyne speaking in an interview with Loving C on Silver Omanbapa Morning show pleaded with the affected traders to have patience with them as the authorities are doing everything possible to re-open the affected part.

According to him, the traders will blame him if anything happens when they rush to re-open it immediately without given the nod.
