Former Deputy Regional Public Health Director, Dr. Yeboah Awusi has refluted the claims by some section of Ghanaians that, they would not allow themselves to be vaccinated for the fear of having under side implications.

According to him, the vaccine is safe and is here to protect Ghanaians from the virus.

Ghana is to begin Covid-19 vaccination on March 2 as government takes delivery of 600,000 AstraZeneca doses today.

The Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine was made by the Serum Institute of India (Covishield).

“This is the first consignment of vaccines acquired through the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access Facility (COVAX) which Ghana, among 92 countries, has signed unto.

“Covid-19 vaccination will be conducted in phases among segmented populations.

Dr. Yeboah speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show monitored by Africannewsgh said, a lot of countries have ordered for the same vaccine which has no side effect.

He added that, it is not true that, the Europeans are trying to kill Africans by bringing the vaccines as been speculated by Ghanaians.

Deputy registrar for Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Bekoe has told Nana Ampratwum that only final year students would be studying on campus whilst others continue studying online. NDC YOUTH VANDALIZED PARTY OFFICE

  Irate youth of the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency have vandalized the office of the National Democratic Congress at Suame. Leader angry youth, Mohammed Naail speaking to Silver fm reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the executives  within the party has failed to meet up to their expectation. According to him, the constituency Chairman does not vote at the Suame Constituency hence he can’t become the Chairman of the party per their rules. He added that, there is an injunction on Shaba by the court that prevents him from entering the party’s office. He noted that, they felt disappointed towards the Ashanti regional Chairman on the NDC for giving a clearance letter to Shaba to become the Chairman of the constituency without informing anybody. He disclosed that, they vandalized the office to express their dissatisfaction towards the leaders of the party. GHANA RISK OF FOOD DROUGHT IF DESERTIFICATION PERSISTS-WETLAND MANAGER WARNS

Dickson Agyemang, Operations manager for Wetland under the Forestry Commission has revealed that consistent desertification of lands and building in water ways may lead the country into food crisis in the coming years. Ghana is losing more than 20 percent forest reserve every year due to desertification such as mining activities, felling down of trees and the likes, he revealed when speaking on Omanbapa show with Nana Ampratwum. He added that Ghana is in a risk of food crisis and extreme poverty if we continue the activities that destroy farmlands and forest reserves. Mr. Agyemang therefore encouraged Ghanaians to report people who build in water areas for legal action to be taken against them.
