Provisional results of the 2021 Census will be out next week

The preliminary report on the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) will be out in the next six days. Acting Director of Communications and Dissemination and Head of the 2021 census Methodology, Mr. Johnson Owusu Kegya speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm Omanbapa morning show said, the preliminary report of the 2021 Census would be published on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. According to him, the preliminary report contains provisional results of the 2021 Census and the final release will slightly change compared to the provisional results. …..MR. KEGYA FIRST…… He added that, after the preliminary report, the GSS will release a Residential Proximity to Essential Services Report on October 19, 2021. This report will present a geographic analysis of residential access to essential services such as basic education and primary healthcare at the district level. KNUST students asked to vacate campus by Saturday

  Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been warned not to remain on campus after midday on Saturday, September 18. Only foreign students and students permitted by management can stay, the regional minister has directed. According to the Ashanti regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, they have picked intelligence that some “unruly” students are planning some disturbances on campus on Friday, the eve of vacation. He added that, the campus is still a security zone as declared in 2018. “It is instructive to remind the student population that the declaration of the University Campus as a security zone in November, 2018, is still in force and, therefore, it is an offence to demonstrate within the security zone,” he stated. Scores throng Walewale to mourn Bawumia’s mother

Walewale in the North East Region has been thrown into a state of mourning following the death of Vice President Dr Bawumia ‘s mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia. The burial, currently underway in the town, has attracted a mammoth crowd from far and near to pay their last respects. Scores of dignitaries have also trooped to Dr Bawumia’s family house at Kperiga to commiserate with him. The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Shaributu, Majority leader in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Minority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and other past the present members from the governmentwere also present. Mourners from, state agencies, among others joined the bereaved family to give Hajia Bawumia a befitting burial. Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Mamprusi Assembly, Hon Issahaku Aremeyaw Somo speaking to the media during the burial service said, the late Hajia Bawumia was a mother for all of them.
